How to Disinfect Your Home Like a Pro

So I have this oddly satisfying fascination with watching people clean their homes (don’t even think about judging me). I’m not exactly sure where it came from, and the only thing I could come up with is I really enjoy a good before-and-after transformation situation.

Growing up, Saturday mornings were dedicated to chores in my house. If we didn’t have sports obligations, we were washing windows or folding clothes. I dreaded Saturday mornings, but the older I got the more I appreciated living in an environment that was always clean. My late step-father was either cooking or cleaning at all times, and our house always smelled like Pine-Sol and fried pork chops (yep, I said and, not or).

Now that I’m an adult, not too much has changed, except the cleaning gadgets have gotten a lot fancier.

I decided to purchase a steam cleaner for my floors about a year ago. Complete. Game. Changer.

The days of the mop and bucket with the dirty, smelly water were long gone.

The steamer that I chose is a multi-purpose steam cleaner, which was one of the main selling points for me. Not to mention that if used correctly, it kills up to 99.9% of household germs. We’ll go ahead and give that last .1% to Jesus. He’ll fix it.

We use our steamer to clean just about everything, but some of the highlights include:

  • Tile floors (ours is ceramic)
  • Grout
  • Oven
  • Carpet
  • Windows
  • Shower door
  • Baseboards
  • Garment steamer

I used it to clean the grout of my kitchen floor, and it turned out amazing. Check it out here:
